サンディの秘密（前編）

「ドラゴンクエスト9 星空の守り人」プレイ記です。

物語の序盤より，主人公の冒険に付いて来ているガングロコギャル妖精「サンディ」。本作の「戦歴」メニューで様々な統計を取ってくれている優秀なマネージャー役にして，主人公も仲間も無個性な本作に於いて極めて重要なムードメーカーの位置にあります。

今回，そんな彼女のエピソードに纏わるクエストが（たぶん）すべて解禁されたと思われ，これを通しで攻略してきましたので，これのレビューをば。

なお，例によってネタバレを多分に含みますので，クエストNo.146から150までを未プレイの方はご容赦を。

また，書き始めたら長くなったので，２～３回に分けてお送りしますw

物語は，天の箱舟のバイトを主人公より長くやっているサンディが，主人公に先輩風を吹かせるところから始まります。

サンディ曰く，「今の服に飽きたから，新しい服を作るための材料を調達してこい」と。で，集めてきたら，サンディの秘密を教えてくれる，ということのようです。

一応のボスを倒してエンディングを迎えた際，サンディが何やら意味深なことを言うのを憶えていらっしゃいますか？　その声は，天の箱舟の音にかき消されてよく聞き取れないのですが，これが今を以て明かされず，気になっているのも事実。よし，協力しようじゃありませんか。
要求されたアイテムは，「蝶の羽根」「レインボーチュチュ」「夢見の花」「ミスリル鉱石」。いずれも今となっては，そんな難しいものじゃありません。さくっと集めて渡したところ，いきなり着替えると言い出すサンディ先輩。…特に変わったように見えないんですケド。まぁ，本人は満足しているようなので，特に何も言いません。

お古の「ギャルの服」を貰いましたが，それより気になるのは，秘密です。ささ，早く教えてw

しかし，恥ずかしがって教えてくれないサンディ先輩。…ちえぇ。


そんな折，箱舟の運転士アギロより，「天の箱舟運転士試験」の受験を勧められました。これを聞いていたサンディは「自分も受けたい」と申し出ますが，これを制するばかりか，サンディをクビにすると言い出すアギロ。どうやら事情があるようです。

いつまでもバイトしていられる身分じゃない？　さて，アギロはどうやらサンディの身の上を知っている様子。その上で，サンディを叱咤している様です。
しかしながら，急にそんなことを言われても，納得できないサンディ。機関室を飛び出し，自分の部屋に閉じこもってしまいました。アギロは構わず「自分から出てくるのを待つしかない」と落ち着いた風で，このようなことがこれまでもちょくちょくあったらしいことを匂わせます。

とりあえずサンディは置いといて，運転試験開始。天の箱舟を使い，ガデスの星のメンバーからハンコを貰ってくる，というものです。貰う順番も決まっており，やや面倒…しかしながら，これの最後の一人「ウロツキー」から，重要な情報がもたらされました。

それは，ガデスの牢獄を作ったのが，「サンドネラ」という人物であるということ。名前からして女性でしょう。しかも，ガナン帝国の重要人物である模様。王族でしょうか？　いずれにしてもこの名前，要チェックですね。

全員からハンコを貰い，アギロの元に戻ってみると，サンディはまだ部屋に籠もっている様子。「呼んできてくれ」とアギロに頼まれ，サンディを迎えに行くことに。
サンディの部屋の扉は，まだ開いてません。仕方なく扉の前で彼女に話しかけ，運転士試験に合格したことを告げると，サンディは我が事のように喜んでくれました^^*

そして，ずっと昔から叶えたい夢があったことを明かしてくれ，その夢に向かって頑張ることを約束してくれます。その夢が何であるのか今は教えてくれませんが，「やり遂げたら話す」と言ってくれました。


次に天の箱舟に戻ってみると，何やらサンディが泣きじゃくっています。一体どうしたの？

ええ～っ!!?
どういうこと，詳しく話してみ!?

事情がよく解らないので，とにかくカラコタ橋に行ってみることに。すると，そこの宿屋で女の子が身体を弱らせ，臥せっているではありませんか。

話を聞いてみると，少女はもともと病気がちだったらしいのですが，サンディを見た彼女は「（死の国から）妖精がお迎えに来た」と思い込み，気力を失っている様子。このことにサンディは責任を感じて，「死にそうな人も元気にしちゃうちょースッゴイ薬」を作る，と言い出します。で，その材料収集は当然に主人公達の役目w　「エルフの飲み薬」，「超万能薬」，「特薬草」，そして「世界樹の若葉」が必要らしい。この「世界樹の若葉」はこのイベントのためのアイテムらしく，これだけは手持ちにないので，これを探しに出かけることになりました。
指定の樹のところへ行ってみると，どこからともなく声が聞こえる…。

どうやら，世界樹が語りかけているようです。…あれ，本作の世界樹は女神セレシア様の仮の姿だったはず？　すると，「もう一人の私」と称されたサンディの正体とは…!?
別れ際，セレシア様より，「サンディを…もう一人の私のことを頼みましたよ…」と念を押されました。サンディ，君はいったい!?

謎が謎を呼んで頭の中がごちゃごちゃのまま，セレシア様の好意により「世界樹の若葉」を手に入れ，サンディの許に。
サンディが作った「ちょースッゴイ薬」を少女に飲ませると，何と本当に少女は元気になり，たちどころに起きて動けるほどになりました。すごいね，サンディ！　さすがはセレシア様の関係者だ！

少女と母親の話を聞いてみたところ，新たな情報を得ました。どうやらこの辺では，若くして死んだ娘の魂は妖精になる，という伝説があるらしいです。先ほど，セレシア様も「カラコタ橋の少女は，まだ私たちの仲間になるべき時ではない」とおっしゃっていたし…サンディは，若くして命を落とした少女なのか？　ますます解らなくなるサンディの正体…。
